The Virtual Event Experience

Hybrid events, with both live and virtual components, have existed in the event industry for a long time, though the virtual arm was often considered the B-team.
Now, virtual events have officially been called up from the minor leagues.

Covid-19 did not create the virtual event space. Companies realized long before the pandemic that serving off-site attendees was valuable and having a backup plan was important. But no one could have guessed how valuable or how important. Covid has taken a trend and accelerated it at warp speed.

Luckily, Pixl ran its first hybrid event all the way back in 2015. Now, in 2021, we recognize that hybrid events will no longer be the exception to the rule, but the rule itself. The event industry must adapt to our changed times and working culture, and it will be essential for companies to understand the event experience from a physical and virtual branding lens.
